May 27: Update

Manju Maharjan, 50 years old is a home based worker of Sunakothi, Lalitpur, has 6 members in her family. The earthquake had totally collapsed her house and forced them to live in the field. Since the tent was unavailable, she was staying in a shelter made up of sack, which was again blown by the recent wind storm.

After receiving a tarp, sent by our partner organization Homenet Southasia, she said, “I am very happy; I wish every needy person gets a tent so that they don’t have to suffer like I did.”
Such a pure soul she was. However, we have been stressing, tents and tarps are not the solutions. We need something more concrete and durable, until then the tent has become a reality of most places.
For now, we are planning for the resettlement program and seeking for some technical support. If you are willing to backstop us please do write to us.
