Discrimination against women in Nepal is prevalent, due to the structure of the society deeply rooted in Patriarchal thoughts. Women are constantly marginalized and single women (widows) are in a even worse state. Single women are considered as symbols of ill-omen and the cause of the death of their husbands.
Women for Human Rights, a single women group (WHR) is implementing the Peace Project “People’s Participation in Social Harmony in Nepal”. WHR with the support of Peace Project is conducting a research to examine and analyze the trend of violence against single women and develop a way forward to support the implementation of national and local laws, policies and action plans that address violence against women. The EOI is seeking an experienced and suitable firm or consultants to conduct a Study to analyze the trend of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence against single women with focus on analyzing intersectional discriminations.
The Consultant will possess wide knowledge on and experience on different types of violence issues, qualitative and quantitative survey design and execution, data analysis and report writing.
