– ‘Many women come to ask for cotton because they don’t have sanitary clothes to wear during menstruation. Now we are running out of cotton as well’ – Maternal Health worker

– ‘I was forced to sleep in the open sky during my period. We have only one tent and I am not allowed to touch my father. We have limited blankets as well and it rained heavily one night’ – 17 year old girl

– ‘I am scared to sleep at night because 4 families share a same tent and most of them are men’ – Young single women

These are just a glimpse of conversations we had during our fieldwork. This is the reason we should have a gender sensitive approach in the humanitarian crisis.
