WHR Gandaki conducted its second provincial workshop in Pokhara, where a new leadership team was elected to head the organization for the next three years. Beyond the appointment of the 11-member board and a dedicated advisory committee, the workshop established a strategic roadmap focused on institutional growth and advocacy. Key resolutions included launching a province-wide initiative to standardize data collection on single women across all 11 districts and drafting formal proposals to the Ministry of Social Development for the construction of new “Chhahari” shelters. By prioritizing capacity-building programs and district-level engagement, the new leadership aims to significantly strengthen the support network and human rights protections for single women throughout the province.
