We were on protest with a demand to insure our Rights.
“I would like to inform all of you that the draft constitution has greatly undermined the rights of women and has curtailed many rights of women that were agreed by previous agreements and also included in the Interim Constitution.
Some of those issues are:-
1. The removal of the word “patriarchal” from the preamble
2. The discriminatory AND provision in the citizenship by descent provision
3. Non-recognition of women’s spouse in citizenship by naturalization provision
4. Removal of guarantee of women participation in the Local, Federal and Central Elections
