Established a community kitchen and distribution of cooked meals

WHR with the support of UN Women established a community kitchen in Chhahari, Hattigauda to prepare cooked meals. The community kitchen kicked off from 15th June, 2020 (Asadh 1, 2077) and ended on 9th August, 2020 (Shrawan 25, 2077). Altogether, 8 kitchen personnel were hired to serve meals in three different locations: Budhanilkantha Municipality (Budhanilkantha-6, Chapali Height-2 and Budhanilkantha-7); Chyasingdole-6 and Bansighat, Tripureshwor. WHR have distributed 28, 311 meals in total as of 9th August, 2020 to the individuals who are daily wage workers, pregnant women, senior citizen, lactating mother, people with serious illness, domestic workers, slum dwellers, families below poverty line and people from marginalized community. The meals prepared in Chhahari are distributed and served in Government of Nepal and WHO health, hygiene and social distancing guidelines have been followed as a means of preventive measures for COVID-19 while distributing cooked meals.
