Community-Led Memorialization for Preserving Memory, Promoting Justice

At the Second National Memory Conference, Women for Human Rights facilitated a panel session on “Community-Led Memorialization for Preserving Memory, Promoting Justice.” The session brought together diverse voices to reflect on the importance of preserving collective memories, honoring the experiences of conflict-affected communities, and advancing justice through locally driven memorialization initiatives.
By placing communities at the center of memory work, we reaffirm the role of remembrance in fostering accountability, dignity, healing, and a more just future for all.
