Sweta’s success story

Sweta Jha, a 28-year-old married woman, endured a harrowing experience in her marital home. Shortly after her marriage, she became a victim of domestic violence fueled by her husband’s alcohol consumption. The situation escalated to a horrifying extent, with her husband subjecting her to insults, torture, and ultimately setting her on fire, driven by a dowry dispute.
In the aftermath of this tragic incident, Women’s Human Rights (WHR) played a pivotal role in understanding the gravity of Sweta’s situation. WHR not only provided immediate assistance at the scene of the incident but also coordinated with relevant agencies to ensure legal proceedings were initiated against those responsible. Additionally, WHR facilitated Sweta’s access to free treatment at the provincial hospital, recognizing the critical need for her physical and emotional recovery.
