Krishna Kumari Kuinkel, a 47-year-old single mother from Pasikot, Buddhanilkantha, faced financial hardship after her husband’s death, leaving her with a home loan to repay and three children to support. Her only income source from making “Bate Ko Dhup” was insufficient. Seeking support, she undertook a 6-day pickle-making training program facilitated by WHR and the Rotary Club of Buddhanilkantha. Initially unsure about her skills, Krishna’s confidence grew, and she began selling her pickles at a WHR event, quickly running out of stock. Encouraged by the positive response, she expanded her business, selling to friends and neighbors, turning a profit and improving her family’s financial situation. Krishna’s transformation illustrates the impact of skill-based training and support in empowering individuals to become successful entrepreneurs.
