Older People Assocation Formation
Older People Association and sub groups has been formed at Balkot. The Mother OPA and four thematic sub groups has nominated working committee members. Each sub groups have 7 members. The newly reformed OPA will commence its activities in accordance with the working framework provided under Nepal Earthquake Response Project.
Glimpses of “The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)-60”
During the Commission’s annual session, Ms. Lily Thapa and Ms. Rajin Rayamajhi representing WHR, participated in different round table meetings where they got the platform to share about different working areas of WHR. In addition to it, they also highlighted the works and efforts done by WHR during the disaster period.
Consultation Program on Single Women Emergency Fund Update
Central level consultation on Single Women Emergency Fund was conducted today 21 march 2016. The consultation was focused on the progress and status of the emergency fund, where it has been used and the possible areas where it can more beneficial for single women in our society.
“Single Women Reintegration Center- Chhahari”
“Single Women Reintegration Center” to WHR is the long awaited dream of providing a safe space for single women whose Foundation Stone laying ceremony was done today. With the financial support of Embassy of India along with the managerial support from District Development Committee- Kathmandu the building is supposed to complete with in 2074 jestha.
Multi Purpose Women Center Handing Over Ceremony Dharmasthali Update:

“Training of Master Trainer (M-ToT) on Total Sanitation” Update:
Nisheeth Basnet and Anamika Gurung of WHR participated in r (M-ToT) on Total Sanitation” organized by OXFAM from 18-22 January, 2016. The training was dedicated towards triggering sanitation practices in the community. It prepared the participants to tactfully enable the community to highlight the benefits of good sanitation practices. Solid waste management, water treatment techniques, and other sanitation approaches.
Blanket Distribution Update:
WHR dispatched blankets to “Solukhumbu” with the support form Bank of Kathmandu. To bring the joy to the survivors living under harsh winter conditions this is the 6th initiative of WHR.
International Exchange and Exposure to WHR
CARE Afghanistan, HAWA Program and WAFAA Association team and Design Tinkering Team visited WHR Office, Kathmandu and other various Chahhari near by kathmandu .
