The two-day Provincial Workshop and Provincial Assembly organized by Women for Human Rights (WHR), Single Women Group, Madhesh Province, in Janakpur concluded successfully.
The program was graced by Chief Guest Hon. Lakhan Das, Minister for Youth, Sports and Social Welfare; Special Guest Hon. Rupa Yadav, Chair of the Women, Children and Social Justice Committee; WHR Founder Dr. Lily Thapa; WHR Central Chairperson Shobha B.C.; Saptari District Founding President and Former Central Vice-President Bimala Parajuli; and WHR Board Member and Madhesh Province President Anita Devkota. The event served as an important platform for discussions on the human rights situation, access to justice, and the empowerment of single, marginalized, and conflict-affected women.
Representatives from the Provincial Government, local governments, the National Human Rights Commission, civil society organizations, media, and other stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of these women. The Provincial Assembly also elected a 9-member Madhesh Province Committee under the leadership of Bimala Parajuli.
