Narayan Devi Shrestha, Aasha Maya Tandukar and other single women cried the tears of happiness when they saw their dreams come true in the form of a roadside sitting place, with the support of WHR on19th February, 2016. After the devastating earthquake, that hit the city on 25th April 2015, old single women residing in Balambu had been hiding their heads under the old cracked roadside sitting place at Balambu. During its assessment phase, WHR explored the wretched condition of the single women and their sitting place. The women had a humble appeal to Founder President WHR, Lily Thapa to help them re-construct their shade.
WHR cordially reconstructed the sitting place with the financial support of Ashoka Fellow, Ichhumati Club and Balambu Locals. The re-constructed sitting place was inaugurated by Lily Thapa, Founder President WHR appreciated the power of women who became able to built the roadside sitting place.
