On the occasion of International Widows Day, WHR Nepal hosted a heartfelt program graced by Chief Guest Chiri Babu Maharjan, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
\nThe event featured a welcome speech by Upasana Rana, Executive Director of WHR, and inspiring remarks from Ms. Patricia Fern\u00e1ndez Pacheco, UN Women Country Representative; Apsara Dongol, Chairperson of SABAH Nepal; Krishna Hari Maharjan, Ward Chairperson of Lalitpur Ward-27; and Kabita Pandey, Chairperson of WHR Central Board, who delivered the thank you note.
\nSharada Mishra, Chairperson of Budhanilkantha Municipality Single Women Group, recited a powerful poem dedicated to single women across the world, while Sushil Shahi of Nagarik Aawaz moved the audience with soul-touching songs. The program also featured cultural dance performances by the Sunakothi Single Women Group and stalls led by single women and female home-based workers.
\nThe event space came alive with the \u201cWindows to Her Stories\u201d gallery \u2014 a moving tribute to the courage, struggles, and triumphs of single women from across Nepal.
