The Dialogue on Transitional Justice, held on November 28, was facilitated by the Founder of WHR and Honourable Member of the National Human Rights Commission Nepal, Ms. Lily Thapa. Participants, representing conflict victims from diverse backgrounds, expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s failure to address their issues and ensure justice. The Honourable Ms. Maina Karki, Member of the House of Representatives and a single woman and conflict victim herself, graced the program. She shared insights into her roles and responsibilities in ensuring justice for conflict victims, as well as efforts made by her for their justice. Participants demanded proper compensation, effective resource management, medical support, accurate data on conflict victims, unbiased categorization, inclusion of mental trauma alongside physical trauma, and addressing gender-based violence during the conflict.
