Women for Human Rights, single women group (WHR), a Non Governmental Organization working for the socio-cultural, economic and political rights of the single women (widows) in Nepal envisions creating a non-discriminatory and equitable society where there will be no discrimination on the basis of marital status. It has been dedicated to create an active network of widows across the nation, regional and International level. Today, it works in 73 districts and 2550 VDCs with over 1,00,000 single women members organized in groups. Advocacy for the rights of single women (widows) is one of the major activities of WHR and is actively involved in changing the discriminatory laws and policies against single women so that gender justice prevails.
\nWHR with the technical support from \u201cKurve Wustrow\u201d has been working to develop qualified community peace cadres for case collecting of Conflict affected women and advocate the issue of CAW for social justice through TRC and disappearance Act and commission for gender sensitive transitional justice mechanisms at community level.
\nTo Address the challenges and to portrait the ongoing task WHR shall develop 5 PSA to be broadcasted on 5 different Districts of Nepal on following thematic areas:
\n1. PSA Highlighting the process done by TRC and Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons Nepal (CIEDP), where Conflict Affected women has registered the cases
\n2. PSA highlighting the need of support classes for CAW and Single women
\n3. PSA Highlighting the work done by 2 commission formed after conflict
\n4. PSA Highlighting the national laws focusing on the Sexual Violence and GBV
\nNote: PSA\u2019s on different Languages are highly preferred<\/p>\n
